Runners are invited to take part in a fitness challenge to raise money for charity.

The Rockinghorse Six in the Park fun-run aims to raise as much money as possible towards the £6million appeal for the new Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.

The hospital opens this summer in the grounds of the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Rockinghorse is the charity running the appeal and is using the money to help equip and supply the multi-million pound purpose-built hospital.

The fun-run is made up of six races which will all take place at Hove Park throughout the next six months.

Each event includes a children's run before the adult's race.

Results of each fun run are posted on the Rockinghorse website allowing runners to track their performance and improvement throughout the summer.

The first five runs are all 5km and cost £6 each to enter and the final run is 8km and costs £7.

Alternatively people can sign up for all six races for £27.

The first five races start at 7pm and take place on April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12 and August 9.

The last race starts at 2pm and is on September 8.
