BRIGHTON’S beach is set to become this summer’s ultimate entertainment venue.

The Argus can exclusively reveal that the city’s top bars and restaurants will be opening up pop-ups at the Big Screen.

Award-winning restaurant Chilli Pickle is one of the restaurants that will be setting up in a shipping container.

Food and drink offerings at the makeshift hospitality bar area will also include Simply Ice Cream, Soul Food and a beachside charcoal barbecue.

A VIP area will also give special guests the chance to have messages on the big screen during their event.

A spokesman for the Big Screen said: “As the Big Screen approaches, we’ve teamed up with bar experts CNTNR to make this year bigger and better than ever.

“Specialising in repurposing shipping containers into cutting-edge modern bars, this year we are introducing a brand new contemporary style beach bar; perfect for an evening in the sunshine.

“But that’s not all. Alongside this stylish bar will be beautiful-stretched tents in our decking area, where you can lounge around and grab a drink before the film starts.

“Or, if you really fancy something extra special, why not go up to our raised platform located on top of the bar, where you can view the true beauty of Brighton seafront.

“With this incredible bar being built as we speak, we cannot wait for August to come around and to launch the best Brighton’s Big Screen yet.”

From August 14 to September 13 there will be more than 90 film screenings on the Big Screen with hospitality packages ranging from £7.

A luxury package including welcome drinks, Chilli Pickle Thali, popcorn, luxury ice cream and tea or coffee and weatherproof seats will cost £30.
