CAN you help a pair of lovebirds trace a mystery photographer who snapped the happiest moment of their lives together?

Adam Burrage took Jennifer Slee to Brighton and decided there would be no better place to pop the question.

The 35-year-old decided Brighton Bandstand was the perfect location as the sun set over the back of the skeletal remains of the West Pier.

As he went down on one knee on June 4, a photographer came across them and offered to capture the moment for them.

But despite thanking the photographer and handing over his details, Mr Burrage is yet to hear from him. He now fears that in the excitement of the moment, he may have scribbled his email address down wrong.

Through The Argus he is appealing for the man to come forward and has promised to “buy him several beers or zesty cocktails” as a way of thanks.

Mr Burrage, tourism manager at Wembley Stadium, said: “Sadly the photographs haven’t come through so I can only assume that I, drunk on gin and the excitement of being engaged, stupidly gave him an incorrect email address.”

He added: “It is just such a romantic spot and I needed somewhere special and there is also the lovely part of having the West Pier in the background. My hunch is that he may be at the university. There was a definite level of panic when we had not received the photos.

“We were just intoxicated with everything, with the sun setting and the excitement of getting engaged –getting his information is in hindsight something I definitely should have done.”

Mr Burrage and Miss Slee, 28, both from London, had their first date in Brighton and have had a special connection with the city ever since. He said: “There is just such a lovely warmth and energy to the place and the people – you do not get that in the centre of London, there is just a romance to it.”

He added: “On our first date we did all the classics, the pier, the dodgems, going through the Lanes, going shopping – we also had our first anniversary here and come back every single opportunity we get.”

Mr Burrage took a couple of pictures of the mystery photographer doing a shoot with a lady in red.
