DELAYS around Worthing and Shoreham are being caused by a Highways Agency survey analysing road usage ahead of the A27 improvement scheme.

Queues of up to two and a half miles have hit the A27 this morning causing chaos for rush hour commuters as the major route is down to one lane towards Worthing from Lancing.
The Highways Agency have said they are carrying out a census on the stretch of the road at the cemetery roundabout heading into Worthing to carry out an analysis ahead of proposed government improvement works which were announced earlier this year.
The census will be ongoing at different locations for up to two weeks as the government explores ways to spend the £350 million promised investment in the road.
