I saw your recent report about water derived from the sea via desalination being more expensive than water from other sources (The Argus, April 10). Fair enough.

But even so, when planning permission is given for vast, new, luxury blocks of flats at the seafront either in Hove or at the marina, there must be a requirement that their water is provided by their own private desalination plants, rather than by taking water away from the rest of us.
