A teenager was today fighting for his life after crashing his moped early on Saturday.
The 16-year-old was riding the bike near his home in Roderick Avenue, Peacehaven, at 2am when the incident happened.
He was first taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton then transferred to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London a few hours later because his injuries were so serious.
No other vehicles or passengers were involved and police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to help them find out what happened. Anyone who saw the accident should call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 quoting Operation Idstone.
