Sadlers's Wells' inspiring hip-hop dance theatre festival, Breakin' Convention, is breaking out of London for the first time and bringing an explosive mix of the best international and national artists together in Brighton.

As well as the hottest local acts, the all-star line-up features Brazilian solo artist Frank Ejara who takes the audience into an imaginary world where sound and movement fuse.

A master of boogaloo, locking and popping techniques, Ejara has been part of hip-hop culture for 20 years and will perform Som Di Movimento at the festival.

He is joined by the legendary Electric Boogaloos, responsible for the dance styles known worldwide as boogaloo and popping.

They will perform a tribute piece, dedicated to the memory of founder member Skeeter Rabbit, who died last year.

French hip-hop pioneers Franck II Louise also return with their explosive all-time classic Drop It!

They continue to push the boundaries, exploring their own limits and going beyond them in a fusion of futuristic head gear, rhythmic escape and free-flowing breakdance.

Guy says: "Breakin' Covention is internationally acclaimed and we wanted to have real mix of events.

"It's quite hard to have a huge dance programme within the festival so it's always fun to find a broad mix, which is what this has."

Hosted by Jonzi D, the festival kicks off with freestyling in the foyer, installations of graffiti art and workshops.

Festival organisers have worked with South East Dance and the Brighton Hip Hop Festival to bring in the best of the local talent and the main show begins with three local acts showcasing their talents for ten minutes each.

Guy adds: "It's about getting the whole Brighton hip-hop community involved."
