I would like to thank the 23-yearold Marine who, when I was told at Hove Town Hall that I had to go to Brighton to renew my bus pass, offered to drive me there.
He took me to the town hall and then insisted on driving me back to Hove.
Such kindness and thoughtfulness is not offered so often to an 87-year-old lady these days. I only hope he sees this letter as he did not give me his name.
