I am writing to complain about false advertisment by HMV in Brighton's Churchill Square.

There was a signing on Monday by the band McFly (The Argus, May 7).

There were posters all around informing everyone to turn up outside Borders at 9.30am. People would then get a wristband which entitled them to entry to the signing.

However, myself and some others, arrived outside Borders at 9am, only to find out the 500 wristbands they were giving out had already gone by 7.30am.

I spoke to the HMV manager, and asked why they had already been given out when the poster clearly said they would be handed out from 9.30am onwards.

He then replied to me saying, "First come, first served."

I wouldn't have minded if the advertisment had mentioned this but it didn't.

Others and myself were very disappointed, especially when they opened the doors to let us queue, knowing we would not be allowed in for the signing.

I would not have known this if I hadn't asked. There was no sign saying all the wristbands had gone. I am very angry at the attitude HMV had.
