Inspired by the lavish Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens of the 1800s, Hoodwink offers audiences an intense sensory experience in the midst of the festival bustle. To a soundtrack of music, birdsong and chiming bells, audiences of around 20 people are led into a compact, hedged-enclosed formal garden for an up-close, intimate performance.

Glimpsing scenes from a mini history, the 15-minute show takes in the moment of Adam's first bite of the apple to scenes with 19th-century engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. A peacock, love letter and extravagant period characters combine with elegant comedy in this unique show.

  • North Lawn, Pavilion Gardens, shows every 15 mins from 1pm and 4pm, Fri, May 11
