YOU better know your Shoe-bacca from your Boba Feet before you pick up these Star Wars themed shoes from a galaxy far far away.

Brighton-based brand Irregular Choice has teamed up with Disney and Lucas Film to launch a new range of ladies footwear based on the iconic sci-fi series.

The range includes out of this world designs featuring flashing lightsabers, embroidery characters such as C-3PO and Darth Vader, colourful prints on the soles, and Imperial Stormtrooper helmets, R2D2 and Yoda as heels.

The collection also includes furry boots based around the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon the Wookie Chewbacca.

Dan Sullivan, owner and main designer at Irregular Choices, said: "It has been absolutely great to come at it from a different angle coming in from the female side. Everyone think it is male orientated but there are so many female fans.

"Working as a designer it is difficult as a heel maker to say I want an R2D2. You then go backwards and forward and there are a few frustrations but you get there in the end.

"Everything had to go through Lucas Film in America and they are very particular about it."

He added: "I am a big since I was a kid, the retro films rather than the most recent ones. They approached me and asked me to do some princess designs but I said I would love to do Star Wars and taking it in a female direction is great."

Mr Sullivan said his favourite design is the Death Star shoes which feature heels modelled off a stormtrooper and Darth Vader.

Irregular Choice is the first woman’s footwear brand to develop collaboration with Star Wars featuring actual characters from the films as heels.

David Lee, director of footwear, The Walt Disney Company EMEA, said: “We’re thrilled with this exciting collaboration; the collection is really stunning and features the most iconic characters from the original trilogy.

“We’re sure that Irregular Choice fans and Star Wars fans alike will love the designs.”

The new range has been released in time for the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens which is set for release at Christmas.

Irregular Choice is based in Bond Street and a launch was also held at their London branch on Friday.
