Detectives are looking for a cashier after money was taken from her company's safe.
Cash was found to be missing from the safe at Halifax in Albert Parade, Eastbourne, yesterday morning.
Police want to speak to Sara Drage, 22, of Seaside Road, Eastbourne, who failed to turn up for work.
She was employed by Steel and Co, which runs a financial services company inside the branch. She was last seen by her flatmate at 9pm on Sunday night.
A police spokesman said: "Sara is believed to have been under stress recently and the police and her parents are anxious to trace her and her car, a red Peugoet 306, registration M446 GFB.
"It was discovered that money has gone missing from the safe at the financial services company. Clearly the two incidents may be connected."
Detective Sergeant Dave Tye, of Sussex Police, urged Sara to contact her family or police.
