THE sudden death of a popular young man is not suspicious, police have confirmed.

Named locally as Reece Rowland, the 26-year-old was found dead at a private address on Saturday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Hertford Road in Brighton at about 5pm.

It is understood Reece was a carpenter, having gone to Varndean School.

A friend, Tom Stevens, 25, who laid flowers at the house on Sunday, told The Argus: “Reece was very unique and everybody loved him. He was very popular. He would go out of his way to talk to you. He was a very special boy."

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police attended a flat in Hertford Road, Brighton, on Saturday, where a 26-year-old man was being treated by ambulance paramedics. Sadly, he was declared dead at the scene.

“Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the matter has been referred to the coroner.”

Tests are being carried out to establish a cause of death, which will aid the coroner's investigation.
