Detectives swooped on Gatwick Airport to arrest a woman suspected of stealing money from a bank.
Sara Drage, 23, of Seaside Road, Eastbourne, vanished on the same day cash was found to be missing from the safe in her workplace.
Cash was discovered to have been taken from the safe at Halifax in Albert Parade, Eastbourne, on Monday morning.
Police believe Ms Drage boarded a Dover to Calais ferry at 6.35am on Monday, hours before her manager reported the money missing.
Ms Drage worked as a cashier for Steel & Co, a financial services company responsible for operating a Halifax bank branch in Eastbourne.
Officers have confirmed a woman was arrested at Gatwick Airport on Thursday.
The 23-year-old was today still being questioned by police over the theft.
