A driver killed in a two car crash has been named by police.

Paddy Crawford Clarke, 22, from Henfield, died when the Subaru Impreza he was driving crashed into a Volvo V70 estate.

The accident happened on the A2037 Shoreham Road between Henfield and Small Dole with the Subaru flipping on to its roof into a hedge.

The driver of the Volvo, a 43-year-old woman from Washington and her three children, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with various injuries.

The A2037 was closed on Thursday, December 10, south of Henfield for more than five hours as police officers carried out investigations at the scene.

Officers continue to appeal for any witnesses to the crash or anyone who saw either vehicle beforehand to come forward.
