THIS winter Dinner2go Brighton will be teaming up to help Brighton charity Brighton in Need.

The sole aim is to collect as many warm items of clothing, warm sleeping bags and rain wear as possible from their customers to be distributed to the cities rough sleepers.

Dinner2go drivers will be taking donations of clothing seven days a week from their huge Brighton and Hove customer database.

Owner of Dinner2go Sohail Rahim and Simon Darcy Abbott, from Absolute Magazine, together decided that with their combined footprint in the city a real change for good could be made this year.

He said: “We will be collecting warm jumpers, gloves, hats, fleeces also rain wear, jackets and leggings plus sleeping bags, we would urge that you please only donate items in good condition.”

Further to this effort Sohail owner of Dinner2go has confirmed: “We will also be doing something more for Xmas and New Years we will be partnering with some of our amazing restaurants to be able to offer the cities rough sleeps a warm meal for these nights”.

For information follow on this, but from the 1st Dec our collection will start and we hope you can all find it in your hearts to donate something.

We thank you.

ABOUT BRIGHTON IN NEED

Brighton in Need was founded in December 2014 by Lydia Sinclair with a mission to collect sleeping bags and rucksacks full of goodies to distribute to the rough sleepers on the streets of Brighton.

She said: “I started a Facebook page and what unravelled over the following two weeks was incredible.

“The wonderful people of Sussex went out of their way to help me and my mission, and together we achieved something truly amazing”.

Now approaching its second Christmas with Brighton in Need, having distributed well over a thousand sleeping bags and hundreds of essential products throughout the year.

Lydia added: “People often ask me why I need so many sleeping bags – this is simple – they get wet, they get damaged, they get lost and they get stolen.

“Sadly there will always be a need for such items.

“I work hard to raise quality and relevant donations to give direct to those in need, as well as collecting donations to provide to the shelters and drop in centres.

“I rely heavily on donations and help from volunteers to be able to hit the streets every Friday night, providing hot drinks, food, warm clothing, sleeping bags, first aid, other essentials and above all – conversation and a warm smile.”
