Firefighters are used to being asked to rescue cats stuck in trees, but are not so frequently called to remove humans from among the branches.
But this afternoon East Sussex Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Blakers Park, on Southdown Road in Brighton, to rescue a young boy.
The nine year old had clambered up to a height of ten feet, but could not get down.
A crew from Roedean station managed to rescue the unfortunate young man using specialist equipment: a ladder.
