Robert Cottrill has been formally confirmed as shared chief executive for Lewes District Council and Eastbourne Borough Council starting from Monday (January 18).
The appointment follows extraordinary Full Council meetings in Lewes (14/1/16) and Eastbourne (13/1/16).
The move is to make the councils as efficient as possible while retaining the sovereignty of each council, meaning that there will still be two separate sets of elected councillors setting the priorities for their areas.
