A MAN has been charged with murdering misssing bomb disposal expert Mark Manning.
Colin Gale, 39, of Offington Road, Worthing, is due to appear before Brighton magistrates this afternoon.
A 50-year-old man from Portslade and a 43-year-old Worthing man who had also been arrested on suspicion of murder have been released without charge.
Mr Manning, 54, of Brighton Road, Lancing, was last seen on April 19 2014 and reported missing by his family three days later.
Officers launched a murder investigation in June 2014 after extensive enquiries found no trace of him.
His body has not been found.
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Ashcroft, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: "We would still like to hear from anyone who has any information about the circumstances of Mark's disappearance or his location."
