A BURGLAR knocked over a £2,000 cake and stole cash from a chocolaterie till.
Sometime between 8pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday the thief broke into Choccywoccydoodah in Meeting House Lane, Brighton.
Police said she entered through a window at the back of the shop, knocking over and damaging a £2,000 cake before making off with £60 from the till.
Owner and creative director Christine Taylor said: "It was just a small break-in - they got in through the tiniest window so whoever it is they will be looking for the thinnest person. We don't keep our takings in the shop overnight so they only got away with a small amount of till change. It was more effort than outcome."
Police forensic teams were on the scene yesterday and a Sussex Police spokesman urged anyone with information to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 277 of February 17.
The crime occurred the night before the company announced its ultimate Easter treat - giant Fabergé-inspired chocolate eggs. Click here to read more.
