JUST two years ago Richard Hadfield was a swinging busker. Now he is making his hometown comeback with a headline show at the Brighton Centre.

He will be returning to Brighton and Hove with a show at the seafront venue as part of musical theatre vocal quintet Collabro.

The 22-year-old rose to fame when the band won the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent, going on to pack out Pride and perform at the Brighton Centre.

Mr Hadfield and Collabro will now being making their second appearance at the 4,500 capacity venue later this year.

Originally from Portslade, the singer used to busk around the city including on Duke Street and George Street singing Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble tracks.

The band now have two albums on their résumé, with their first record Stars being a number one and becoming the fastest selling album for a debut act and their second Act Two charting at number two behind only Florence and the Machine.

Richard said: "It is going to be incredible returning to the Brighton Centre for another amazing show.

"To think it was two years ago I was busking on Duke street outside Nationwide.

"This year it's even bigger and better with dramatic effects, new and improved set and show stopping numbers one after another."

He said while busking on the streets he would have "never believed" in two years he would be touring the world and selling out venues like the Royal Albert Hall.

Since being launched into the spotlight the avid rugby fan has got to meet his idol Jonny Wilkinson whilst duetting with one of his favourite singers, Alfie Boe, at the rugby star's testimonial.

He described his first appearance at the Brighton Centre as "incredibly moving" while his performance at Pride was "amazing".

He added he is looking forward to their UK tour after the band returned from America after three dates across the east coast.

Collabro will be appearing at the Brighton Centre on March 12.
