A MAN was attacked and knocked unconscious while walking home.
The 35-year-old man was walking along Hollingdean Road in Brighton when he was attacked from behind and knocked unconscious.
When he came round his mobile phone and cash had been taken from his pockets.
He later needed hospital treatment for a cut eye and leg injury.
Police are seeking witnesses to the robbery, which occurred between 10pm on Thursday, April 14, and 2am the following morning near the junction of Hollingdean Road and Lewes Road.
In an appeal this morning, Detective Constable Dan Aubrey-Smith, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: "Because he was struck down from behind and rendered unconscious, the victim has no knowledge of who attacked him.
"The attack happened in a busy area and there is a good chance that someone may have seen what happened or noticed people in the vicinity.
"Any information would be welcome."
