A SCHOOLGIRL told her teacher she had an abortion after having sex with older men, a court heard.

The distressed 15-year-old told the female teacher she had been having sex with the two men since when she was 12 or thirteen, a court heard.

Yesterday the teacher gave evidence at the trial of the Osmon Koroma, of Norton Road, Hove, and Max N'Gasa, of Cranmer Avenue Hove, who deny sexually abusing the girl and 12 others between 2010 and 2014.

Prosecutors at Lewes Crown Court said the two men groomed the girls with alcohol and cigarettes and invited them up to Koroma's flat at the time in Wick Parade, Littlehampton, which they deny.

The teacher said the girl had spoken to her at school on October 15, 2012, in "a very distressed state".

"She wanted to explain the circumstances which had led up to her being in that state and wanted to seek help," she told.

Prosecuting, Christopher Stimpson asked: "What she told you was that she had been having sex with Osmon and Max since she was 12 or 13?".

"That's correct, yes", the teacher replied.

"And that she had been given vodka and cannabis by them before each act?", Mr Stimpson asked.

"That's correct, yes," she replied.

N'Gasa's defence lawyer, Nadine Radford, asked the teacher to confirm the girl told her that "as a result of having sexual intercourse with Osmon and Max she had a termination," and someone helped helped her arrange a termination.

The teacher confirmed this and said she contacted children's services and police on the day of the girl's disclosure in 2012 and they held a strategy meeting.

N'Gasa and Koroma were charged in October 2015.

N'Gasa denies two counts of sexual activity with a child against the complainant while Koroma denies one count of rape against her.

Yesterday jurors also heard from an HIV expert who said the statistical likelihood of passing on HIV to someone after having sex once was one in 1,111, but it varied.

Koroma had been diagnosed with HIV years earlier, but none of the complainants were infected, jurors had heard.

The trial continues.
