My daughter, who lives in Hove, has just received her second parking ticket of the year while leaving her car legally parked in the residents parking area outside her flat.
The up-to-date permit is displayed clearly and correctly.
She pays Brighton and Hove City Council for the privilege of parking there. One would think the parking attendants would be protecting the residents from illegal parking rather than harassing those who pay their wages.
This is a complete waste of everyone's time and distressing to my daughter. The distress in compounded by the relevant department at the coucil's unwillingness to respond to us.
My family has had previous problems with this department, when my elder daughter ran out of fuel in Brighton and got a parking ticket while at the petrol station getting a can of fuel.
The council refused to rescind that ticket despite us providing evidence that she purchased fuel at exactly that time.
