I laughed out loud at Gill Mitchell's comments concerning the new Brighton and Hove City Council's transport policy (Letters, May 29).
She states, without a hint of irony, "Our streets should be places for people to meet, spend time and enjoy all our wonderful city has to offer."
This from the party which forced through the waste transfer station at Fiveways in the heart of a residential area and community and then forced through a policy that will exclude local children from local schools.
The Tories always used to be a little sinister, but the last Labour administration in this city made them look like absolute angels.
I bid the Labour Party in Brighton good luck. With leadership like that they will need it.
