Another all-female line-up was held together brilliantly by Brighton compere Zoe Lyons.
Although gay-friendly, the Bent Double performers are not all gay and the first visitor was married, softlyspoken, foul-mouthed Watford lass Angie McEvoy, who tore into her school life, neighbours, travels and parenting skills with selfdeprecating aplomb.
There were musings on lesbian life from Jen Brister, who draws inspiration from being traumatised by a loud, matriarchal and blunttalking Spanish mother.
Together with Lyons, they gave a funny and sometimes controversial commentary on life, the universe and everything.
Headliner Shazia Mirza spoke with a sharper, more cutting voice, dissecting topics such as racism, perceptions of Asian life in the UK and British culture.
Both funny and political, Mirza was a skilled satirist with a powerful feminist message.
