It is custom-built with fantastic views in one of the most desirable locations in Sussex.

Yet its owners are not expecting to make a fortune when they put this rare property on the market.

Potential buyers will be warned there is a catch - they will have to find a new home for the seafood stand, dismantle it and move it there.

The quirky kiosk, made out of part of the collapsed West Pier, has recently been enjoying glorious sunshine on Brighton seafront close to the old entrance to the pier.

But its owners have been given marching orders for the building to make way for the i360 viewing tower that is expected to attract thousands of visitors.

The Savvides family, who also run the Regency Seafood Restaurant in Kings Road opposite the West Pier, are not unhappy because they know the i360 tower, dubbed the Brighton Eye, will be good for business.

But it leaves them with the conundrum of what to do with their Regency Seafood Oyster Bar.

Cyprus-born Emilio Savvides, who runs the firm with his brother Roberto, their wives and four children, said they were planning to sell it online.

He said: "We are looking to put it up for sale on eBay, in the hope that it might attract people that wish to use it for commercial purposes or even Americans that might wish to buy a bit of Brighton history.

"We would like to see it go to a good home as it is a part of our family business and we are kind of attached to it. At the same time it is nice to see the development on the West Pier which is good for Brighton and particularly for this part of the city.

"There is only one catch - whoever buys it will need to dismantle it and take away, losing all those lovely sea views."

The Seafood Oyster Bar kiosk was made using a salvaged and restored roof top from a kiosk that was put on the West Pier in 1866.

The rest of the bar was made in 1999 using modern materials.

Mr Savvides estimated the whole thing weighs about a tonne and is 30 square metres.

Work is due to start on the i360 in the summer so the kiosk needs to be moved before then.

Mr Savvides, 52, who has been co-running the restaurant for about 20 years, said: "It is a lovely kiosk and exactly what you would expect to find on a typical old fashioned English pier.

"We are looking probably at around £7,000."

The kiosk should go on eBay by the end of the week.
