This timely look at the ‘real’ facts about the European Union is a simple, no nonsense affair that should probably be touring the UK to help people who can’t decide whether they’re In or Out.

On entering the cute little makeshift theatre in Jury’s Inn, each member of the audience is given a sheet of multiple choice questions about the EU which they peruse, soon realising they don’t know many of the answers.

Geoffrey Brown, an eminently likeable man who brings to mind a slightly eccentric geography teacher, gallops through an informative but humorous slideshow on the subject, debunking some of the myths around EU legislation (including things like the ‘ban on multi-slotted toasters’) and insulting a few nationalities along the way with some sterotypical gags that elicit many a (good natured) groan.

A lot of research has clearly gone into this show and Brown knows his stuff, his interest in the subject engagingly contagious.

There are chuckles as the audience guesses (mostly wrongly) the answers to such questions as, ‘How much does being in the EU cost British citizens every day?’ and How much legislation is actually dictated by the EU’?

The answers will surprise you. Charming, funny and pretty damn useful information too.
