As a regular visitor to the Brighton area, I am appalled that your council has left this bandstand to go from its former beauty to the ruin pictured in your article (The Argus, June 4).

Think of what its past history holds for our future generations. It is time for it to be put to its former glory and for the general public to be able to sit and listen to music once again.

Come on Brighton and Hove City Council - don't ruin your past history, preserve it.
