M Boyask (Letters, June 5) is wrong to say that no one knows what is happening to the climate.
Over 99 per cent of scientists are now agreed that global warming is occurring and that man is to blame.
The use of the term "climate change" is to emphasise that it is not just rising temperatures that are a threat but the resulting changes such as drought and more severe storms.
As parts of West Hove are less than seven metres above sea level I think we should be concerned.
Even if the Greenland ice cap doesn't melt in my lifetime, it will eventually, causing a 7.1 metre rise, and that fact will depress seafront property values long before the actual event.
Your house insurance premiums will also be rising significantly.
If we act now then we can avoid the worst effects. If we put off acting then our grandchildren will not thank us for it.
