Dozens of boys at a Brighton high school were excluded from lessons today after arriving dressed in PE shorts.
At Longhill High School in Falmer Road, one parent told The Argus: “They’re not allowing boys to wear shorts to school, they’re making children stay in isolation and sending them home.
“They’re not allowed to wear Longhill School PE shorts even though the girls are wearing skirts.”
The head teacher Kate Williams said: “Students have access to water in order to keep themselves hydrated. We have made reasonable steps to ensure that classrooms are as comfortable as possible.
“I have high standards regarding uniform, and today, in the warm weather conditions, these high standards have been challenged by approximately two per cent of parents/students.”
