A WOMAN suffered serious leg injuries when she was hit by a car in a supermarket car park. 

The 76-year-old, from Shoreham, was hit by a Honda Jazz as she walked in the car park of Co-op in Ham Road, Shoreham. 

She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital after the crash at 1.17pm on Saturday. 

Police described her injuries as life-changing. 

The driver of the Honda Jazz, an 83-year-old Shoreham woman suffered shock, police added. 

The car park was closed on Saturday afternoon for investigations.
