A teenage girl was taken to hospital this morning after being hit by a bus.
The accident happened in Hangleton Road, Hove, near the junction with Rowan Avenue, just before 8.10am.
She suffered an ankle injury and, about half an hour later, was being rushed to hospital by ambulance.
Sussex Police confirmed a pedestrian had been in collision with a bus.
A spokeswoman for Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company said: "Obviously we are deeply concerned that a young girl was hit by one of our service 5 buses earlier today and we wish her a speedy recovery.
"Unfortunately the girl stepped into the side of the bus without looking but was quickly taken care of by the ambulance services, as well as our own response team.
"The incident didn’t impact any other passengers and the bus was soon back in service."
