The A22 near Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, is closed
A PEDESTRIAN has been killed after he was hit by a lorry.
He was hit on the A22 close to the junction with Hempstead Lane, Hailsham, at about 11am today (Friday).
Paramedics tried to rescuiscate but the man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The carriageway is closed and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
PC Andy Huggett, of East Sussex Roads Policing Unit, appealed for witnesses.
