Police were called to a serious accident.

The corner of Denmark Terrace and Montpelier Crescent were cordoned off from about 9pm on Friday following the incident.

Sussex Police said they were unable to confirm any details of the incident in which a cyclist and pedestrian were believed to have been hurt.

The extent of their injuries was not known, but witnesses said they had been told by police at the scene there had been a fatality.
