YOU could barely see the Brighton Palace Pier through the fog snf their were travel problems on our roads yesterday.

A yellow warning was in place until 10.30am and the Met Officer’s chief forecaster warned it had spread across the southsaid: “As the cold air mass across much of the south of England moistened up there was be a much greater risk of fog than on recent nights.”

The A280 at Long Furlong was blocked by a two car collision at around 5.40am.

The road was closed for about an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident and the drivers of both vehicles sustained minor injuries.

At 7.34am police were called to the A27 east of Southwick Tunnel where a Volkswagen Caddy and a Mercedes-Benz Vito had been in collision. The road was blocked for a short period with no injuries reported and the road was later cleared by 8am.

Levels of fog are set to decrease over the next two days, with the Met Office predicting moderate levels of visibility.
