HUNDREDS of university lecturers are due to strike today in a dispute over redundancies and the downgrading of staff.
Teaching staff from the University of Brighton will walk out for half a day, including those based in the main building of the Grand Parade campus.
Members of the University and Colleges Union will also begin a work to contract rule, which means an end to unpaid evening or weekend working.
The campaign will continue in the first week of the summer term with a two-day strike and is expected to escalate for the remainder of the academic year.
