DRUSILLAS at Alfriston has a new train.
The Safari Express chugged out of Mungo’s Central station at 11am on Friday for its first journey.
The African-themed train has four brightly coloured carriages and arrived after travelling more than 400 miles by lorry from the Metallbau-Emmein factory in Germany.
The 3.5 tonne bespoke safari train was hoisted on to the rails by a huge mechanical crane and the whole track has been re-themed over the past couple of months.
Drusillas boss Laurence Smith said: “We are very excited about the arrival of the Safari Express, the first of three new rides for 2017.
“The project represents a million pound investment for the park.”
