A MAN was slashed in the face with a knife during an attempted robbery in Bradford.

The 35-year-old victim had got out of his car on Intake Road, Fagley, to smoke when he was approached by two men who asked to use his lighter.

One of the men then produced a knife and demanded money. The victim ran away from the duo, but they chased him and assaulted him before running off towards Killinghall Road.

The victim suffered slash wounds to his face and other facial injuries which required surgery.

The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Wednesday April 12.

West Yorkshire Police today released e-fit images of the two suspects. Both are described as being in their mid-20s and scruffy.

One was described as white, of medium build, and about 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a black hooded top, jeans and a green and black striped hat.

The second suspect was described as mixed race with a shaved head. He was wearing a black hooded top.

Detective Inspector Craig McKay, of Bradford District CID, said: "This was a nasty incident and we are keen to speak to anyone who may be able to identify this men, or anyone who may have seen them acting suspiciously in the area around the time this occurred."
