OUR second team – Whitehawk FC – have had very difficult period in their history with a managerial merry-go-round at the Enclosed Ground.
During the winter it looked as though the Hawks were heading towards the Vanarama South trap door.
After so much progression over the past ten years that scenario would have been a major disappointment.
However, the Hawks’ hierachy are never ones to panic and they calmly brought in Andy Woodman on February 1 to steady the ship.
The former Crystal Palace keeping coach has slowly but surely turned things around.
A brilliant 2-0 away win at Margate on February 25 started the rise and they finally secured Vanarama South safety at a noisy Enclosed Ground on Saturday.
Frankie Sutherland and Alex Osborn were on hand to score in a 2-0 win against Poole Town.
Hopefully Whitehawk and their army of ultras can build for next season and perhaps go on a promotion tilt to the Conference League.
That’s where they should now be aiming!
