PETER KYLE has said he will stand against any attempt to bring back fox hunting after the Prime Minister pledged to hold a free vote on the controversial pursuit.
The Labour candidate for Hove said: “I am not in favour of fox hunting and I will stand against any attempt to overturn the ban.
“So when you hear this election is about one thing and one thing alone, Brexit, think again.
“By giving Theresa May the unquestioning power she seeks it will be used to turn back the clock on things close to our heart here in Hove and Portslade from public services to animal rights.”
The Prime Minister said yesterday on a visit to Leeds: “This is a situation on which individuals will have one view or the other, either pro or against.
“As it happens, personally I have always been in favour of fox hunting. We maintain our commitment to allow a free vote.
“It would allow Parliament to take the decision on this.”
