A POLICE chase ended with the car which was being pursued crashing into a shop’s window.
Four people inside a black Audi A3 were detained after the front of Jones Bootmaker store in East Street, Brighton, was seriously damaged at around 1am.
The vehicle had failed to stop for officers in Black Lion Street, Brighton, minutes earlier.
One eye witness told The Argus: "Residents and passers-by were really shocked by the incident.
"But it was swiftly resolved by the efficient constabulary and other services."
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "A vehicle crashed into a shopfront in East Street, Brighton, after it failed to stop for officers in Black Lion Street shortly before 1am on Wednesday.
"The four occupants of the black Audi A3 were all arrested at the scene and remain in police custody as of 10am on Wednesday.
"Two 15-year-old boys from Lancing, a 13-year-old boy from Peacehaven and a 20-year-old man from Brighton were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
“The 20-year-old from Brighton was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug."
Witnesses are asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 36 of May 24.
