BRIGHTON’S Grand hotel has given its support to the city’s Madeira Terrace crowdfunding campaign.
The hotel’s cash pledge, along with the generosity of other Brighton businesses and individuals, brings the total raised to more than £160,000 in just under six weeks.
Andrew Mosley, general manager of The Grand, said “From one iconic landmark to another, The Grand Brighton is proud to support the campaign to restore this important part of Brighton’s history.
“Madeira Terrace is such a vital part of Brighton’s identity and we’re excited to join forces with the council, businesses and individuals who have already pledged to ensure its future is protected.”
The campaign aims to start work to bring the terraces back to full use – the arches have been closed to the public since 2012.

The campaign has an ambitious target of raising £431,000 by November 26.
The money will be used to bring at least three of the arches back into use.
