A FIRE that broke out in a restaurant is being investigated.
Six fire engines were called to the Cote Brasserie in East Street, Horsham, just after 3am yesterday.
Flames ripped through the building but fortunately no one was inside.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “A call came in relating to a fire in a two-storey building, with one of the floors being used as a restaurant.
“Around 25 per cent of the restaurant has been damaged by fire and smoke.
“The roof of the building has been 100 per cent damaged by both smoke and fire.”
The French-style restaurant remained closed yesterday and no one responded to The Argus’ scalls.
The fire service was last night still investigating the cause of the blaze.
