DOUBLE Olympic athlete Brendan Reilly visited Windlesham School in Dyke Road, Brighton, to join staff and pupils for an inspiring talk about his career as a high jumper.
He competed in the Barcelona 1992 and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He was also European and British Champion for more than ten years.
Since then, the former Olympian has travelled extensively, inspiring and motivating schoolchildren across the country.
Brendan spoke to pupils of the highs and lows of professional sport and about the dedication needed in order to pursue any dream. His talk complemented the school’s personal, social, health and economic education curriculum themes of resilience and perseverance.
Afterwards, the children asked Brendan a number of very insightful questions and rated the talk ‘inspirational’ and ‘fantastic!’.
