Rock Challenge Dance competition takes schools by storm. With the annual event occurring at the end of January, resulting in excitement and eager preparation for the big day of competition! Schools from across West Sussex will go head to head at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley, to show off creativity, team work and individuality, hoping to achieve the first place. In the upcoming year (2018), the competition days for Crawley will be Monday 29th – Wednesday 30th of January at The Hawth Theatre Venue. Rock Challenge allows primary, secondary and college schools to join an extra curricular, in order to keep teenagers healthy and sociable! Rock Challenge has always aimed to maintain the imaginative minds of pupils in a way in which they can express themselves on or behind stage! Roles such as a performer (dancer or actor) to a set designer or lighting assistant all make up a school's rock challenge team, again, encouraging students to express creativity with friends. Not to mention the experience!

From this years Rock Challenge (2017) experience, a girl who attends Langley primary school said " Rock Challenge has made me a lot more confident with myself, I was a bit worried when I first signed up but now I don't regret it at all! I've made so many friends on the days of competition with girls and boys from schools I hadn't even heard of! I strongly believe that if anyone gets the opportunity to take part, they should!"

Rock Challenge says  "Involvement in Rock Challenge or J Rock improves physical health and also enables young people involved to develop a range of life skills and character traits important for personal development." Further explaining that the uptake of this fun and friendly interschool competition benefits pupils in many ways! Schools such as mine will be attending 2018's Rock Challenge and I know I cannot wait!
