THE cause of a fire which severely damaged a bungalow is yet to be determined.
A fire investigation officer was working yesterday afternoon to discover what caused the blaze at the property in Streat Hill, Plumpton.
The two people living in the home were alerted by a smoke alarm and escaped unhurt.
Six East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the property at 4.28am on Wednesday.
The fire started in a garage which spread to a roof void and the main building.
Crews spent half the day tackling the flames which gutted half of the property.
