A £1,000 CASH award for a community shed project has helped to get the initiative up and running.

The Henfield Shed – a friendly hub for hands-on projects and skills-sharing – received the funding from organic skin and haircare brand Green People.

Green People invited individuals and groups across the UK to apply for £1,000 to put towards projects that make a difference in their communities.

The Henfield Shed, above, is tackling exclusion and social isolation amongst all adults, with a particular focus on older men.

Inspired by the Australian Men’s Sheds movement, it’s a place where members share tools and resources to work on projects at their own pace.
