PEOPLE can get fit while embracing the fresh air thanks to new £20,000 outdoor gym equipment.

Worthing Borough Council has installed the equipment at The Gallops open space in Findon Valley after listening to residents who wanted somewhere accessible and low cost in which to stay fit and healthy.

Working with resident Jeff Swann and the Findon Valley Residents’ Association, the local authority secured funding from section 106 developer contributions to pay for the work.

The equipment was officially opened with residents joining Worthing Borough Council leader Dan Humphreys and Councillor Diane Guest to give it a try. Cllr Guest, the council’s executive member for environment, said: “I am so pleased that we have been able to install another gym in one of our parks that will help get people out exercising in the fresh air.”
