Police are investigating after a body was found in the water this morning.
Sussex Police said they were not yet able to say whether the deceased person was a man, woman, or child or how they are thought to have ended up on the beach.
A spokeswoman said: "Police received a report of a body in the water at Splash Point, Seaford at 8am.
"The Coastguard has bee informed."
The Coastguard said they could give no further details about the incident as it is now being investigated by the police.
